Contact Lens Insertion and Removal Procedure

Checking if your soft or disposable contact lens is right side out.

Correct                                              Incorrect

How to insert your contact lenses

Make sure that your fingers are clean and dry. (Dry fingers facilitate handling as
soft contact lenses tend to stick to wet fingers).
Remove your lens from the storage case.
It is a good idea to get in the habit of always working with the same lens first, the
right or left, in order to avoid mix-ups.
Rinse your lens with the solution recommended by your eye care practitioner to
remove all traces of debris.
(Multi Purpose Soft Contact lens Solution)
Place the lens on the tip of your index finger.
Using the middle finger of your other hand, pull and hold your upper lid so that you
cannot blink.
Pull down your lower eyelid, using the middle finger of your inserting hand.
Look up and place the lens gently on the lower white part of your eye.
Slowly release your eyelid and close your eye for a moment.
Blink several times to centre the lens on your eye.
Sometimes, small dust particles trapped behind the lens during its placement
can cause discomfort. To remove dust, slide the lens off and then back onto the
front of your eye.
Insert the other lens following the same procedure.

How to remove your contact lenses

Wash and dry your hands.
Make sure that your lens is centred correctly on your eye.
Looking up, pull down your lower eyelid with the middle finger of your inserting
hand.
Bring your index finger close to your eye until you touch the lower edge of the lens.
Slide the lens down to the lower white part of your eye.
Gently squeeze the lens between your thumb and index finger and remove it from
your eye.
Follow the lens care procedures recommended by your eye care practitioner.
Remove the other lens and follow the same procedure.
The Basics of Soft Contact Lens
Care:
Clean, Rinse and Disinfect
Wash your hands so that you don't transfer
dirt and germs to your eye. Try to avoid
moisturizing soaps, as they are not good for
contact lenses. Dry your hands with a lint-free
towel.

Remove one lens and clean it with the
recommended solution (Multi Purpose Soft
Contact lens Solution). Cleaning removes
eye-produced buildup, cosmetics and other
debris that impairs lens comfort.
Rinse the lens with solution again to remove
the loosened debris, making sure to take as
long as the package directs: rinsing is an
important step.

Place the lens in your clean lens case or lens
holder and fill with fresh solution; don't "top
off" your old solution. Disinfecting kills
microorganisms on the lens. Disinfection
time varies from product to product; check the
package for details.

Repeat steps two through four for your other
lens.

Will the colored contact lenses look on my eyes like they do in your
pictures?

They may and then again they may not. These pictures are only meant to
give you an idea of how the colored contact lens will look on the eyes.
They can not be an exact representation because your underlining eye
color effects the final outcome, as does the color values of your
monitor.  We cannot guarantee final color results, and cannot give a
refund for wrong color choice.  Photos are for examples only

What is the best color contact lens type for darker eyes?

3 tone colors seem to be the most opaque lenses and cover the darker
eyes the most, but the end result will always be affected by the original
eye color

I had laser surgery and now I want to wear contacts. What should I do?

You must speak to an eye care practitioner about the feasibility of
wearing contact lenses. He/she is the best person to advise you on
contact lenses based on your individual needs.

Can I share my lenses with my friends?

No, Never share you lenses.  The transfer of eye fluid may cause
infection and serious problems,  never, ever share your lenses with
anyone whatsoever.

Can I Sleep or Swim in my lenses?

No, remove your lenses before sleeping or swimming.  These lenses
are for daytime wear only.

Will these lenses affect my vision?

The opening of your pupil has been optimized in size so it should not
interfere with your vision.  All of our lenses are non corrective, without
vision correction, and should only be worn under the supervision of
your eye care practitioner.
